Now Hiring: Occupational Therapist – Per Diem (Hospice Care)
Unified Care Hospice Texas is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and mission-driven Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our interdisciplinary hospice team. This per diem role offers the opportunity to provide comfort-oriented care that preserves dignity and fosters independence for patients at the end of life.

Key ResponsibilitiesConduct functional evaluations to assess patient needs in activities of daily living (ADLs), safety, and comfort.
Develop and implement personalized, comfort-focused care plans (e.g., ADL adaptation, energy conservation, positioning, cognitive training).
Educate caregivers on safe patient handling, adaptive equipment, and techniques that promote comfort and function.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and chaplains.
Adjust care strategies as conditions evolve, prioritizing comfort over rehabilitation.
Accurately document evaluations and care in the EMR system.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, state, and federal regulations.
Education: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (OTD or MOT).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years, preferably in hospice, palliative care, or home health.
Licensure: Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Texas.
Other Requirements: Must be a licensed driver in Texas with a reliable, insured vehicle.
Deep compassion for the terminally ill and their families.
Excellent clinical judgment and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of hospice philosophy and comfort-based therapy.
Ability to maintain professionalism while offering empathetic support.
Flexibility to work per diem hours based on patient and agency needs.
Proficiency with electronic medical records.
