Nursing Services Manager
The Nursing Services Manager ensures high-quality care by managing a skilled department, having a high understanding of nursing principles, and following policies and regulations with an understanding of Critical Access Hospital compliance. Key responsibilities include fostering teamwork, promoting effective communication, and professionally maintaining safety and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with various staff members for screening of appropriate care levels, review of medical records against the criteria, and ensuring treatment justification.
- Work with physicians managing patient admissions/discharges in the ER, outside hospitals, surgery, and the clinic. Provide support and coordination for patient emergencies. Utilize Interqual to help support our patient care team.
- Collaborates with the CNO to develop and build committee champions to support the Nursing Team and enhance our quality care. Ensuring that the care team conducts daily rounding with patients and that staff perform bedside shift reporting, along with a thorough patient care handoff for each patient.
- Support the clinical pre-screen of swing bed admissions and prior authorization needs. Perform ongoing reviews and documentation to validate extended stay.
- Provides communication support for admission and discharge notifications, authorizations, and other areas as requested by our Social Worker.
- Oversee staff to ensure patients receive timely, high-quality care in accordance with policies and State and Federal regulations.
- Collaborate with the Nursing Services Assistant to facilitate timely staff scheduling and ensure adequate coverage as required. Ensures timely processing and approval of staff timecards and payroll requirements.
- Oversee staff policies, training, and compliance and develop methods to enhance staff efficiency and effectiveness. Participate in regulatory surveys, audits, and quality assessments.
- Assesses employee performance through regular evaluations, acknowledging accomplishments and recommending areas for enhancement. Contributes to quality assurance by developing action plans.
Wage
- $90,000 - $115,000 annual salary (compensation will be determined on qualifications and years of relevant managerial experience).
Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week.

Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in nursing.
- Knowledge of criteria for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coverage (or willingness to learn).
- Minimum of five (5) years acute hospital nursing experience required and/or three (3) to five (5) years acute hospital Case Management experience recommended.
- Must have demonstrable knowledge of the healthcare industry (hospital, managed care, insurance, etc.) which includes medical terminology, insurance authorizations, etc. and/or willingness to learn.
- BLS certification. ACLS, PALS within six months of hire. CALS, or TNCC and ENPC within two years of hire (Education requirements will be provided by EBCH).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Leadership and supervisory experience in the healthcare field are preferred.
