Job Title: Wound Care Nurse (RN)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, treat, and monitor all types of wounds (acute and chronic).

  • Develop individualized care plans for wound healing.

  • Apply advanced dressings and use specialized wound-care equipment.

  • Educate patients and staff on wound prevention and skin integrity.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to manage complex cases.

  • Document wound progress and outcomes accurately.

Typical Requirements:

  • Active RN license (Registered Nurse).

  • Experience in wound care (commonly 1–3 years).

  • Certification preferred:

    • WOCN (Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse)

    • WCC (Wound Care Certified)

    • CWCN (Certified Wound Care Nurse)

Education Experience Licensure Certification:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Prior work experience in like or related position preferred. Maintains required certification / qualifications and associated standards. Licensure for state of practice is required.

Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge:

Knowledge of basic nursing skills; knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered.

Directly supervises assigned employee(s). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; fostering an environment for employee engagement.
