Nurse Practitioner
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Location: Connecticut area
Schedule Requirement: Must be available a minimum of 3 days per week
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients in accordance with the Connecticut Board of Nursing and state practice regulations. The NP works both independently and collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. This role combines clinical expertise, compassionate communication, and strong leadership in promoting patient health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities-
Perform comprehensive health assessments, obtain patient histories, and conduct physical exams.

Diagnose and manage acute, chronic, and preventive health conditions.

Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans, including prescribing medications within scope of practice.

Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results.

Provide patient education on disease prevention, treatment options, and lifestyle management.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.

Promote evidence-based practice and participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.

Refer patients to specialists or community resources as appropriate.

Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff and students when applicable.

Current and unrestricted Connecticut Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.

Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Family, Adult-Gerontology, or other specialty area (ANCC or AANP preferred).

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited program.

Current CPR/BLS and ACLS certification.

Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience as an NP preferred (new graduates welcome to apply).

Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Must be available at least 3 days per week (including possible weekends or extended hours as needed).

Experience with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, etc.).

Strong patient education and motivational interviewing skills.

Ability to work autonomously and in team-based care settings.

Knowledge of Connecticut healthcare regulations and controlled substance guidelines.
