Non Emergency Medical Stretcher Driver
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Non Emergency Medical Transport Stretcher Driver to safely transport non-emergency patients who require stretcher services. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Patient Transport: Provide non-emergency transportation for patients requiring a stretcher, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the trip.
- Vehicle Operation & Maintenance: Operate ambulances equipped with stretcher accommodations, performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Assist with Patient Transfers: Safely transfer patients to and from stretchers, beds, or other medical equipment using proper lifting techniques and assistive devices.
- Ensure Comfort & Dignity: Provide a professional, respectful, and compassionate experience for all passengers, ensuring their needs are met during transport.
- Route & Schedule Adherence: Follow assigned routes and schedules efficiently while accommodating traffic and patient needs.
- Emergency Preparedness: Recognize medical emergencies and take appropriate action, including calling 911 if needed.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate trip logs, patient reports, and mileage records in accordance with company policies and state regulations.
- Maintain Clean & Safe Equipment: Regularly sanitize and maintain the vehicle and stretcher to ensure a hygienic transport environment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License: Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to Lift & Maneuver Patients: Must be able to safely lift, push, and pull at least 150 lbs with assistance.
- Background Check & Drug Screening: Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Customer Service Skills: Compassionate, professional, and patient-centered attitude.
- 2 Year Experience Required: Previous experience in non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT), EMS, or healthcare-related fields is required.
