About the position
The Retail Merchandiser at Goodwill Retail Services is responsible for implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals related to merchandising. This role focuses on new goods merchandise programs, including the development of planograms, training retail leaders, and overseeing the merchandise check-in process. The position requires collaboration with various retail stores to ensure effective execution of merchandising standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Create merchandise planograms from a set merchandise assortment and develop merchandising direction for store teams.
- Ensure established pricing is entered into the D365 system and test all items for accurate scanning.
- Develop and monitor store merchandise receiving processes, resolving delivery issues with the Inventory Manager.
- Build and deploy communications to retail leaders regarding set direction, timelines, and standards for new goods placement.
- Conduct periodic training sessions for store leaders on merchandise standards and tactics.
- Serve as the point of contact for stores during merchandise markdown or movement strategies, overseeing communications and troubleshooting.
- Stay updated on merchandising trends and provide recommendations for best practices to maintain relevance.
- Standardize and manage digital and physical assets created by the department.
- Effectively plan and manage work to complete routine responsibilities and special assignments.
- Solve moderate to advanced complexity problems independently, identifying root causes and resolving issues.
- Apply professional principles and skills to modify processes and resolve situations.
- Champion Goodwill's community engagement initiatives and serve as an ambassador in the community.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Two years of college education or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Experience with visual merchandising practices and setting merchandise standards.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
