Navigator of Youth and Adult Services

Vancouver, BC Contract $60000.00-$65000.00/year

Salary: $60,000-65,000 per year. 

Hours: Monday to Friday – 37.5 hours per week. 

Employment Type: Full-time, fixed term from January 19, 2026 to December 24, 2026. 

Location: Hybrid, must be able to access the Vancouver Office.


Ready, Willing and Able (RWA) is a national initiative led by Inclusion Canada and the Autism Alliance of Canada, funded by the Government of Canada. RWA works to increase employer capacity and demand to hire people on the autism spectrum or with an intellectual disability, connect employers with employment agencies and supports, and strengthen partnerships across schools, communities, and businesses. Canucks Autism Network (CAN) is a delivery partner of RWA in British Columbia.

The Navigator of Youth and Adult Services plays a key role in connecting Autistic job seekers to employment, post-secondary, and self-employment supports. Working within the national RWA framework, the AOC identifies and engages Autistic job seekers and links them to RWA’s network of local employment partners to ensure access to employment opportunities and needed supports.

Core Functions

Outreach – Proactively engage Autistic job seekers through diverse outreach strategies
Referral – Provide accurate, informed referrals to community employment supports, ensuring smooth navigation of available services

Key Responsibilities

Outreach & Engagement

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage Autistic job seekers in the Metro Vancouver region
  • Use multiple platforms (e.g. social media, community networks, events) to reach potential clients
  • Conduct awareness sessions at post-secondary institutions, autism organizations, and community groups

Community & Partner Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with employment and disability support providers
  • Maintain a clear understanding of available services, eligibility, and referral pathways
  • Work closely with RWA Labour Market Facilitators (LMFs) to align employer outreach with job seeker engagement

Client Navigation & Referral

  • Conduct intakes/assessments to understand employment history, interests, and support needs
  • Provide guidance and referrals to appropriate employment services and supports
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients (as requested) to support successful service connection and employment outcomes

Teamwork, Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate client records and safeguard personal information
  • Use the Compass online intake system and other RWA tools for documentation and reporting
  • Participate in monthly team calls and collaborate with the national RWA team and partner agencies
  • Support program evaluation through data collection and reporting
  • Contribute to integration of RWA activities within the host organization
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

  • Commitment to full inclusion and employment equity for Autistic individuals
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working directly with Autistic individuals (employment or post-secondary settings preferred)
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (Social Services, Disability Studies, Education, Behavioural Science) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of employment barriers faced by Autistic job seekers
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and public speaking abilities.
  • Strong writing, organization, and time-management skills
  • Comfortable collaborating virtually with team members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and client management software; ability to learn new systems.
