The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, one of Montana's AAA Four Diamond resorts, is seeking a Nail Technician to join our Spa Team.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for Evaluating a customer's nail and cuticle condition. Performs nail care services including but not limited to manicures, pedicures, paraffin treatments, nail treatments and hand/foot and arm/leg massages. Maintains the highest level of nail care knowledge for both hands and feet and has complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcoming clients in a warm, friendly manner, accompanying them to and from treatment rooms, and thanking them sincerely on departure.
- Conduct consultations for clients with problem areas, advising how best to care for their needs.
- Suggest various upgrades, such as the use of specialized products or add-ons.
- Adhering to appointments in a timely manner by monitoring time schedule.
- Interviewing clients to obtain information about contraindications and examining skin to evaluate the suitability of treatments.
- Engaging and conversing with clients during sessions on topics relating to their interests.
- Performs nail care services including but not limited to manicures, pedicures, paraffin treatments, nail treatments and hand/foot and arm/leg massages.
- Maintaining product knowledge to promote and sell spa services and retail products.
- Adhering to laws and policies pertaining to chemical usage, cleaning, and sanitizing, keeping cleaning log updated after each appointment.
- Caring for linens and replacing them between sessions.
- Ceasing treatment and informing supervisor in the event of inappropriate guest behavior
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
- Adhere to all requirements set forth in the Averill Hospitality Employee Policies and Procedures and Non-Compete documents and the service expectations as set forth by the Management. Support company mission and policies and procedures.
- Acknowledge the confidential nature of the professional relationship with a client and respect each clients right to privacy.
- Responsible for the comfort of all guests while performing treatments and direct all efforts toward client satisfaction.
- Follow Spa at Whitefish Lake treatment protocols.
- Constantly monitor the quality of all Spa at Whitefish Lake services and treatments.
- Communicate with the Reception Desk staff on a regular basis to ensure smooth scheduling and billing.
- Maintain awareness of daily schedule and trouble-shoot any last-minute changes or updates as well as monitor weekly and monthly schedule to assure accuracy.
- Attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
- Greet Guests at the exact time of scheduled appointment to assure punctual start time of reserved treatments.
- Escort guests to designated treatment room, address client by name, reconfirm treatment type and explain protocol for specific treatment that will be provided.
- Conduct a complete client consultation (every appointment!) to ensure that the clients expectations will be met
- Keep work area clean and always stocked.
- Encourage client to relax and keep conversation to a minimum during treatment.
- After the service is complete, offer the guests a glass of water/ tea and inquire if they are having another service and, if so, escort them to the appropriate area.
- Maintain valid Nail Technician license and provide a copy to Spa Director for file. Stay informed of state and local regulations pertaining to your license.
- Adhere to time off/shift coverage request policy.
- Demonstrate professional excellence through regular self-assessment of strengths, limitations and effectiveness by continued education and training. Desire to provide phenomenal guest experiences, a passion for quality, and attention to detail.

SCHEDULE / HOLIDAYS/ PTO:
This position requires regular, reliable, and punctual attendance. The Nail Technician may be scheduled to work up to 8-hours a day between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm any day of the week, in accordance with business needs. Working evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
The Nail Technician will typically be available during peak seasons.
The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
