Job Summary:
The Medical Records Service Review (QA) Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the MR Review (QA) team, ensuring seamless and compliant processes for ensuring all clinical documentation is completed fully, in a timely manner, and in alignment with overall admission diagnosis and insurance authorization. This role involves leadership responsibilities, process optimization, and close collaboration with both internal teams and external payers to meet organizational goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performance Management and Talent Development
- Set annual and quarterly performance goals for team members
- Monitor goal achievement and provide regular feedback and coaching
- Collaborate with HR for performance reviews and corrective action plans
Developing Reports on Specialist Performance:
- Analyze reports to identify trends and areas for improvement for individual specialists.
- Offer actionable feedback to specialists based on performance data to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop protocols for effective training and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
Facilitating Monthly Invoice:
- Facilitates the monthly invoice, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to the finance department.
Employee Training and Development:
- Ensure smooth handover by organizing the necessary documentation and conducting training sessions as required.
- Creates and delivers onboarding/training content/programs that accelerate new hire productivity
- Establish performance goals, provide performance feedback and document performance reviews
Create Reports for Facility Owner:
- Generate reports for facility owners, showcasing the responsiveness and performance of staff members.
- Highlight areas of improvement and provide actionable insights to enhance operational efficiency.
Process Improvement:
- Ensure that error detection aligns with the expected timelines and quality standards, and work with the team to rectify any missed or delayed issues.
- Utilize denials received from MR submissions to revise policies and provide retraining to staff as necessary to improve accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with Medical Records Process and Submissions department to update protocol as needed to ensure alignment with best practices.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and credentialing/enrollment software.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and insurance guidelines
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role is highly preferred
