Machinist  

Job Summary
The Machinist manufactures precision components used in underground mining roof support and longwall equipment. This role supports rebuild and repair operations by producing parts that meet strict dimensional and quality requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate manual and CNC lathes, mills, and related equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Set up machines and select tooling
• Measure, inspect, and verify machined components with precision measuring tools.
• Maintain machining tolerances and finishes

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience as a machinist in an industrial environment
• Blueprint reading ability
• Experience using precision measuring instruments
• Knowledge of machining safety practices

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in an active machine shop environment, involving exposure to operating machinery, metal parts, noise, vibrations, and shop-related conditions. Position may require standing for extended periods, manual handling of materials, and adherence to safety procedures and protective equipment standards.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform manual handling of materials, bend, reach, and work in various physical positions while operating or supporting machining activities. Must be capable of safely handling tools and components using approved lifting methods and strictly following safety procedures and required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
