Job Overview: Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Support Services, the Mobile Unit Driver is responsible for driving a mobile vehicle used for various Health Care Partners of South Carolina programs in the community. Responsible for routine cleaning and servicing of the mobile vehicles as appropriate. Responsible for helping the organization to transport the vehicles, employees and patients to safe locations while assisting in various areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drives the mobile vehicle(s) in a safe and timely manner to various locations across communities that HCPSC provides programs and services.
  • Routes and destinations may change daily based on program and service locations.
  • Conducts daily safety inspection of mobile vehicle(s); inspect the interior, exterior, brakes, headlamps, taillights and report mechanical malfunctions or other problems as required.
  • Responsible for daily vehicle cleaning, ensure routine fueling, check oil and fluid levels, clean windshield, and headlamps, and maintain mobile vehicles in clean and safe operating condition.
  • Keep mobile vehicles maintenance records current; coordinate and schedule routine and episodic vehicle maintenance.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards, i.e., vehicle logs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Education/Certification/Licensure:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge and ability to perform the essential job duties, and which meets any required state or federal certification requirements.
  • Requires an active South Carolina driver's license for the class required for operation of assigned vehicle; DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Age 21; Licensed for a minimum of 3 years; No violations and/or accidents within 3 years; No vehicle related suspensions/reinstatements; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 7 years.
  • CDL is required

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)

  • 1-year related experience preferred.
  • Possess safe and good driving skills.
  • Knowledge of the South Carolina area and surrounding communities.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Intermediate interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to communicate with and relate to a diverse staff and clients in a courteous and professional manner.

Ability to maintain vehicle records and perform routine checks on a motor vehicle
