Mobile Phlebotomist
Location: Indianapolis IN and Surrounding areas

Overview: We are a rapidly growing clinical laboratory seeking a reliable and experienced phlebotomist who takes pride in their work and is passionate about patient care. In this role, you will travel a predetermined route to various locations, including skilled nursing facilities and assisted living sites to collect blood samples and perform related tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Blood Collection: Perform venipunctures following proper protocol, policies and procedures.
- Patient Interaction: Provide compassionate and professional care to patients, ensuring comfort and communication.
- Sample Handling: Properly label, handle, process and transport blood samples to assigned drop location for specimen testing.
- Documentation: Accurately complete required paperwork, including requisition & manifest completion, mileage log documentation and end of day reporting.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and sterilize phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Compliance: Adhere to all safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
- Travel: Travel to various locations as scheduled, using reliable transportation to reach patients in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2 years of phlebotomy experience with at least 6 months of experience in geriatric or difficult blood draws is required.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in sample collection and documentation.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with patients and healthcare providers.
- Certification: Certification from a recognized phlebotomy organization. ASCP is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift equipment or supplies as needed.
- Ability to work in various environments, including private homes, clinics, and other settings.
