Millwright Apprentice (Year 1 or 2)

The Boundary Mining Group is a trusted provider of high-quality parts and services for critical industries, including mining, heavy equipment, and industrial manufacturing. We are currently looking for Millwright apprentices to join some of our teams within the Vancouver area, including Delta, Port Coquitlam, and North Vancouver. Our companies specialize in hydraulic cylinders, custom turn-key hydraulic systems, and gearboxes. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Disassembly/assembly of cylinders.
• Field  service, installation, and commissioning of hydraulic systems and equipment. 
• Teardown, inspection, troubleshooting, and testing of hydraulic components.
• Take measurements using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and record them on the repair report. 
• Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. 
• Identifying seals during cylinder disassembly. 
• Testing hydraulic cylinders using a test bench. 
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow safe working procedures.
• Other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Completed the Foundations Millwright course or technical training level 1. 
• Has a strong mechanical aptitude and has mechanical hobbies. 
• Basic understanding and ability to read assembly drawings is considered an asset.
• Experience in the safe operation of common shop equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, saws, drill presses, grinders, torches, and/or hydraulic presses is an asset.

• Strong interpersonal skills, and able to work both individually and in a team environment.
• Dependable and consistent in punctuality, attendance, quality, and productivity.

Working Conditions:

• Out-of-town travel, field work, and/or overtime as required. 
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Fast-paced environment requiring high attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Standing for extended periods of time.
