Mortgage Processor - Full-Time

About this Position: 

Responsible for conducting all mortgage loan processing activities. Review mortgage files for completeness and documents for accuracy. Communicates with the Loan Originator regularly. Requests appraisal, title search and flood determination. Sends processed files to underwriting for review and assists with preparing the loan for closing. 

What You'll Do:

• Process and prepare documentations for all mortgage files including portfolio, FNMA and RD loans.

• Order/pull disclosures and notify originator to send to borrower.

• Order appraisals and title search.

• Request verification of employment, verification of rent and verification of assets, as needed.

• Review information for completeness and accuracy.  Clarify missing or questionable information with the originator. Ensure all necessary items are available for underwriting.  Track development of information to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.  Review conditions of underwriting and communicates with originator to obtain additional information as needed. Submit loans for final approval.

• Communicate with the originator regularly. Utilize the loan notes section of mortgage cadence and ensures loan status is updated frequently.

• Resolve or refer requests and problems promptly and courteously.

• Perform escrow analysis 

• Process HOI and PMI payments sent via Xtend and NMS.

• Assists with the processing of mortgage department billing.

• Responsible for completing various monthly reports and tracking.

• Maintain and convey the Credit Union’s professional reputation when dealing with outside parties.

• Complete reports and records promptly and accurately.

• QC Mortgage Files.

• Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.

• Attend meetings as required.

• Maintain continuing education on Federal and State Regulations.

• Perform miscellaneous clerical functions as needed.

• Ensure work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.

• Fill in for other Mortgage Loan personnel as required. Assists and supports other areas as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned. 

What you'll Bring:

• High School graduate or equivalent required. Associates Degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in related position or credit union experience preferred.
• Understanding mortgage loan processing functions is strongly preferred.
• Thorough understanding of mortgage process, requirements, procedures and underwriting criteria is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of credit union products and services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
