Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex laboratory testing in areas such as hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and immunology
• Analyze and interpret laboratory results to assist in diagnosis and treatment
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• Ensure compliance with VA, federal, and accrediting agency standards
• Accurately record test results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and communicate findings as needed
• Maintain strict safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field
• Certification from ASCP or equivalent (e.g., MT/MLS)
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience, preferably in a hospital or VA setting
• Familiarity with laboratory protocols and regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Must pass a federal background check and credentialing process
