Medical Records Director

We are looking for a fulltime Medical Records Director. Pay Range $26-$28/hr. DOE
Medical Records Director:
- Assist in establishing and executing procedures to be followed in the collection, coding and indexing, and the filing/retrieving of medical records.
- Must be knowledgeable on federal and state laws regarding medical records.
- Review and audit admissions, discharges, change of condition, and other pertinent records on nursing units.
- Review department policies and procedures, at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes.
- Ensure that incomplete records/charts are returned to nursing service for correction.
- Abstract information from records as authorized/requested for insurance companies and other third-party payers.
- Ensure that registries are properly maintained for admission and discharge of residents.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to assure that medical records can be properly maintained and problem areas can be identified and corrected.
Requirements:
- Medical records certification.
- 1 year experience in the Medical Records Department within a Skilled Nursing Facility.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors and the general public.
