POSITION SUMMARY:
The Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for greeting patients, managing
appointment scheduling, verifying insurance information, collecting payments,
answering phone calls, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the overall
smooth operation of the front office, all while demonstrating excellent
customer service and utilizing knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Responsibilities:
· Opening & closing the clinic is in line with the procedures set forth in our Front Office Manual.
· Greet and assist patients with check-in, appointment scheduling, and a variety of other requests with a positive and welcoming attitude.
· Collet’s co-pays, balances and self-pay amounts and posts them to the correct place within the Athena EMR
· Confirm patient insurance, demographic and contact information.
· Prepares for next day appointments by printing forms, verifying insurance eligibility and scanning items into patient charts.
· Works as a team player to problem solve and resolve issues that may arise on the job when necessary.
· Manages time effectively, works quickly and accurately to keep the clinic workflow and operation in a fast-paced environment.
· Provides administrative support for the clinic as needed.
· Answers phone calls and returns voicemails timely.
· Maintains an organized, friendly and prepared environment at the front office at all times.
· Complies with HIPAA policies and procedures to maintain secure patient confidentiality.
· Other duties as assigned and needed
