Position OverviewUnder the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Medical Laboratory Technician performs testing across all areas of the lab and ensures equipment is properly maintained. This role requires the ability to work independently, especially during on-call hours, while complying with CLIA regulations and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities-
Perform testing, specimen handling, and result reporting in accordance with lab policies

Maintain accurate records, including quality control and proficiency testing

Identify, correct, or report issues affecting test performance

Adhere to safety and compliance standards

Participate in lab quality assurance, peer review, and competency testing

Teach students and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives

Maintain strong communication and teamwork with healthcare staff

Participate in on-call coverage and hospital education programs

Perform other duties as assigned

Education: Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution

Certification: Certified by ASCP or NCA as a Medical Laboratory Technician; Current CPR certification

Experience: Prior lab experience preferred but not required

Skills: Basic computer knowledge; strong decision-making and accountability; effective communication and collaboration

Starting Wage: $26.17/hour and up (depending on experience)
