Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated part-time Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing high-quality healthcare by performing clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced medical environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are looking to gain hands-on experience in the healthcare field while providing support to our medical staff and ensuring the best patient care.
Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support:

Take and record patients' vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight).

Assist with patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic tests.

Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.

Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for patient use.

Sterilize medical instruments and equipment.

Collect specimens (e.g., blood, urine) and prepare them for lab processing.

Administrative Support:

Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow in the office.

Answer phones, take messages, and relay important information to the medical team.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health records (EHR).

Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures.

Process insurance verification, billing, and filing.

Patient Care:

Provide exceptional customer service to patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed.

Explain medical procedures and instructions to patients, providing emotional support when needed.

Coordinate follow-up care and appointments for patients.

Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.

Certification in Medical Assisting (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is a plus.

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with patients and a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Basic computer skills and proficiency in EHR software.

Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

CPR/BLS certification is preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
