Medical Assistant (MA)
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to join our clinical team. The MA provides both clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers, ensuring high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position may be based at either our Willcox clinic.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Duties:-
Prepare exam rooms and sterilize equipment.

Record patient history, vital signs, and chief complaints.

Assist with exams, procedures, and treatments.

Administer injections and vaccines per provider orders.
-
Collect lab specimens (blood, urine, swabs) and perform CLIA-waived tests.

Accurately document care in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Relay test results and prescription information as directed.
-
Monitor quality control measures (e.g., equipment, refrigerator logs).
-
Triage patients and provide urgent support as needed.
-
Schedule appointments and manage incoming calls.
-
Maintain and file medical records, reports, and documentation.
-
Initiate referrals and obtain insurance authorizations.

Distribute patient education materials and provide general medical information.
-
Coordinate with front office and clinical staff as needed.

Offer emotional support to patients and families.
-
Participate in team meetings, training, and quality initiatives.

Cross-train in front and back office roles.
-
Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED required.
-
Prior experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Formal training and/or certification strongly preferred.
-
Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical protocols.

Proficient in phlebotomy, injections, and routine medical tasks.

Familiar with EMR systems and medical coding (ICD-9/CPT).

Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.

Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Medical Assistant Certification:
-
Completion of an approved MA training program OR
-
Completion of an unapproved program + certification from a nationally accredited body (as per Arizona Administrative Code).

CPR/BLS Certification:
-
Current certification required (American Heart Association).

Fingerprint Clearance Card:
-
Required for Pediatric Behavioral Health Sites – must have or apply within 7 days of employment.

Urine Specimen Collection Training:
