Mechanical Engineering Lead

We have been in business for over 30 years specializing in providing production solutions for Defense and Commercial industries. We have extensive experience in the energetics (explosives), medical, and semiconductor industries.
Who We’re Seeking: We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Lead (IV) to drive the planning and execution of projects, ensuring alignment with quality, cost and performance goals while mentoring team members and fostering collaboration across disciplines. This could be the perfect fit for someone who has strong problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, is able to effectively communicate with diverse audiences (technical and non-technical), and has a passion for learning and improvement to advance team and organizational success.
What You’ll Do: This job is onsite/in-office each day. You’ll also be responsible for:
- Working closely with the Director of Engineering to assess the Mechanical Engineering scope, establish task with appropriate deadlines and estimated hours, and ensures the entire team understands their commitments
- Developing and communicating strategies and tactics to enhance mechanical design functionality, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, performance enhancement, and reliability optimization
- Presenting at major design reviews to advise customers and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of technical decisions
- Working effectively with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams
- Driving initiatives to support engineering process enhancements and tool optimization
- Managing the creation, revision, and release of detailed engineering documentation in the Product Data Management (PDM) system
- Providing hands-on support for mechanical assembly processes and leading on-site installations – 10% travel required that varies by project (Example: Work on project for 6 months and then travel for a 2-week install or work on multiple small projects, taking a couple of day trips per month.)
Who You Are:
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 7 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering OR
- You have a High School diploma or equivalent with at least 15 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering
Additionally, You’ll Need These Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Outlook, Teams), specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to manage the scope, schedule, and resources of engineering projects while balancing technical and budgetary constraints
- Expertise in mechanical system design, including CAD modeling (SolidWorks), FEA, GD&T, and conducting tolerance stack-up analysis
- Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Management (ERM) software
- Expertise in managing Engineering Change Management processes (ECR/ECO/ECN)
- In-depth familiarity with ISO 9001 (QMS) to lead process improvement initiatives
- Experience with program scheduling tools and methodologies
- Demonstrated skills in creating technical documentation, including O&M manuals, procedures, and engineering reports
Added Bonus if You Have:
- Experience in custom automation for DoD projects
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification

- Base Salary Range: $105,000 - $130,000
