Who We’re Seeking:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II who is responsible for ensuring that product designs meet all applicable requirements, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and supporting various engineering processes. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication, and a desire for continuous improvement and learning.
What You’ll Do: You’ll also be responsible for:
- Reviews requirements from various sources (e.g., dynamics, stress, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that all applicable requirements are incorporated into product designs.
- Collaborates effectively with vendors and Controls team to specify electromechanical components that meet requirements; Works with supply chain and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth process transitions, adhering to Design for Manufacturing principles.
- Participates in continuous improvement efforts to enhance engineering tools, processes, and methodologies.
- Performs tolerance stack and close clearance analyses to ensure proper fit and function of assemblies.
- Manages Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to ensure project execution and accurate documentation.
- Uses SolidWorks to generate and update drawings and models during high demand periods, releasing engineering works in the system.
- Participates in integrated product team discussions, contributing to product development through cross-functional collaboration.
- Conducts peer reviews to ensure that engineering work is accurate and meets requirements and design intent.
- Supports the development and maintenance of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) sections related to the mechanical engineering scope, producing clear and concise technical documentation.
- Provides hands-on support for mechanical assembly processes and site installations for overall assemblies.
- Performs other job duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by management.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering or High school diploma or equivalent with 10 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.
- Intermediate experience with SolidWorks PDM (CAD data management) software.
- Experience in performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for mechanical design validation.
- Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5-2018 standards.
- Experience in analyzing tolerance stacks to ensure product fit and performance.
- Experience in Engineering Change Management processes (ECR/ECO/ECN).
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 (QMS) and process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated skills in creating technical documentation, including O&M manuals, procedures, and engineering reports.
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint), specifically Excel.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience presenting information/solutions to target audiences via PowerPoint.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to solve and identify solutions.
- Ability to travel within the US as required.
- Authorized to work in the US.
- Able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
