GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

 Chroma Systems Solutions, Inc. is a leading designer and manufacturer of power testing instruments and systems including programmable AC Power Source and DC Power Supplies, AC loads and DC Electronic Loads, Digital Power Meters and Automated Testing Systems for applications in LED Lighting, Led Drivers, Aerospace, Defense, Military, Automotive, Medical, Battery, Solar, Marine, and Regulatory Testing.

 

The Mechanical Engineer applies skills and knowledge needed to achieve a cost-effective, functional, and ergonomic design to the development or ATE Systems and test fixtures. This Engineer works in conjunction with Electrical Engineers in order to provide a fully custom solution that meets the customer’s needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.

·         Design the structural design of ATE systems, subcomponent placement, fixture design, etc., using computer-assisted design/drafting software.

·         Provides feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs.

·         Manages fabrication of in-hose parts or sourcing of third party mechanical components.

·         Uses discretion in defining implementation strategies for the deployment of solutions or assembly of systems, subsystems, fixtures, and interconnect designs.

·         Provides fabrication designs to in-house construction teams and 3rd party suppliers.

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Education: BSME or equivalent is preferred.

·         3+ years’ experience in mechanical design, and electrical product construction design.

·         Ability to generate clear and accurate documentation.

·         Proficiency in Solid Works CAD software

·         Effectively presents design ideas to peers, management and outside customers.

·         Must be self-motivated, organized and able to manage time effectively.

·         Thorough understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES

This is a non-supervisory position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

General office skills and dexterity are required. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
