Mechanic

Down Under Directional Boring is seeking a full-time mechanic that can maintain equipment, trailers, and vehicles. This work will be mostly completed in a shop environment with occasional field work. Task will vary from day to day. We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude to help keep our guys working efficiently.

Requirements & Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, electrical, and other mechanical systems
• Ability to follow established procedures, read instruction manuals, and wiring schematics
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong physical stamina and good overall fitness
• Positive attitude and reliable attendance
• Attention to detail
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good organization skills
• Welding experience
• Running diagnostic tests on vehicles
• Analyzing diagnostic test results
• Test driving vehicles to gauge performance
• Performing preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers
• Performing routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, fluid level checks, filter replacements, tire replacement, and tire rotations
• Maintaining detailed records of trucks and trailers
• High school diploma preferred; certification from a vocational school or apprenticeship is a plus
• ASE certifications are preferred but not required
• Driver’s License (REQUIRED)
