MDS Nurse
Full-time position with competitive wages and excellent benefit package. Experience in LTC with MDS 3.0 preferred. Must take call every 4-5 weeks.
DUTIES
JOB KNOWLEDGE AND ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The MDS Nurse is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of the Federal and State assessment tool. Position serves as an active member on the interdisciplinary and management team.
2. Demonstrates knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents (i.e. physical, cognitive, and socialization factors) in planning delivery of care.
3. Maintains comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of the MDS rules and regulations as described in the MDS User's Manual, including item coding, RAPS, care planning, electronic submission, scheduling, etc.
4. Committed to an interdisciplinary treatment approach to rehabilitation by exercising sound nursing judgment based on preparation, knowledge, skills, understanding and past experience in nursing care situations.
5. Accountable for compliance and consistent application of the Code of Conduct and Compliance Program, Resident Abuse Reporting and Prevention Policies, and State and Federal Code requirements pertaining to long-term care nursing service.
QUALIFICATIONS
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing and currently licensed as a Licensed Nurse in the State is required.
2. Previous work experience in a long term care setting. Supervisory experience and organizational skills in a long term care setting preferred.
3. Is listed in good standing as confirmed on the State Department of Professional Credentialing.
4. Possesses excellent technical assessment and documentation skills, and leadership qualities.
5. Possesses good communication skills and is patient and self-disciplined.
6. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
7. Knowledge of MDS rules and regulations including item coding, RAPS, care planning, electronic submission, scheduling, and working knowledge of relationship between PPS and MDS, etc.
