As a Massage Therapist, you’ll support residents across Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Hospice settings. This role is deeply meaningful—bringing comfort, connection, and improved quality of life through individualized therapeutic touch.
You’ll collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, communicate with families and Power of Attorneys (POAs), and provide services in-office and bedside—adapting techniques to meet residents where they are physically, cognitively, and medically.
What You’ll Do
Provide therapeutic massage services in independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and hospice environments
Perform in-office, bedside, recliner, wheelchair, and hospital-bed massage while adapting techniques to resident mobility and medical condition
Create a safe, calming, and respectful therapeutic environment in both treatment rooms and resident rooms
Confer with residents, nursing staff, hospice teams, and/or POAs regarding medical history, goals of care, and appropriateness of massage therapy
Develop individualized treatment plans appropriate for geriatric and medically complex populations
Communicate with families regarding consent, scheduling, billing, and care updates as appropriate
Maintain accurate treatment documentation, billing records, and required monthly hospice reports
Track and report monthly drive time and off-site services
Complete weekly loyalty reports
Provide hand massage programming in memory care and skilled nursing settings as requested
Coordinate scheduling, check-out procedures, and billing for independent living residents
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including nursing, hospice, social work, and wellbeing staff
Adhere to infection control policies, PPE requirements, and safety protocols
Perform laundry and maintain cleanliness of massage linens and treatment spaces
Maintain professional boundaries and trauma-informed care standards
Utilize therapeutic tools within scope of practice (e.g., hot towels in-office when indicated)
Maintain compliance with Wisconsin massage therapy scope of practice guideline
✅ What You’ll Need
Graduate of a professional School of Massage Therapy
Experience
Experience working with older adults or equivalent knowledge desired
Six months to one year of related experience preferred
Experience in multiple treatment modalities preferred
Certifications & Licensure
National certification in massage and bodywork
Licensed and registered in the State of Wisconsin
CPR and First Aid certification required
Additional certifications in related fields (e.g., Aesthetics) strongly desired
