The New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA) is accepting applications for the position of Marketing Manager. The Marketing Manager supports the Director of Marketing and Communications and museum leadership in executing strategic short- and long-term strategies for exhibitions, programs, and all museum initiatives. This role guides email communications, website user experience, and social media management for the institution; measures effectiveness of marketing tactics; and strategizes ways to support and grow our audiences through digital and print media. This role reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications.

****Starting salary range $ 48,000-$53500 annually****

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

       Executes and develops strategy for NOMA’s email marketing efforts; manages and coordinates e-communications for all museum departments.

       Writes and distributes weekly newsletter, using Wordfly, to nearly 35,000 subscribers.

       Uses Tessitura to manage email lists and segments to ensure targeted, personalized content is being distributed to each subgroup of contact inventory.

       Develops and executes growth strategies for NOMA’s social media channels and website. Creates social media content and is the primary staff member responsible for community management on Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms.

       Updates community event calendar listings (print and online) with museum programming

and events

       Maintains noma.org WordPress site, including the creation and updating of event calendar and exhibition pages, and other sections of website as necessary. Identifies opportunities for and creates new sections of the website.

       Acts as point of contact with web development agency partner.

       Collaborates with Creative Design Manager to ensure a user-friendly and intuitive web and email experience.

       Tracks web, email, and social media analytics to ascertain content engagement levels and assumes technical ownership of systems utilized.

       Assists in reporting on the department’s PR and marketing efforts to museum leadership

and internal stakeholders

       Works closely with the Brand Team to formulate a cross-platform content strategy.

       Provides editorial and creative support to team members.

       May undertake special marketing- and communications-related projects as requested by management.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

       Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications or a related field from an accredited university and at least 4 years’ relevant professional experience OR 8 years of relevant professional experience

       Understanding of marketing and communications goals, procedures, and strategies

       Demonstrated experience in social media management or email marketing

       Proficiency with WordPress or similar content management system; Wordfly or similar email marketing software; Google Analytics; Asana or similar project management software

       Experience in editing and proofreading

       Some Adobe Photoshop knowledge

       Familiarity with Tessitura or other online ticketing system/CRM preferred.

       Understanding of the museum, art, and culture landscape in New Orleans and the United States.

       Must be able to work nights, evenings and weekends as assignments warrant.
