New Hope Mills, located in Auburn, NY, and home to our well-known pancake mixes and our growing Store and Café, seeks a Marketing Associate to join our team.  This position will concentrate on planning, developing and coordinating advertising policies and programs as well as produce collateral materials to drive purchases of New Hope Mills products and the New Hope Mills Cafe. The Marketing Associate will also contribute to the social media strategy and tactical execution as well as develop press releases and serve to facilitate public relations activities.  In addition, the Marketing Associate will also ensure that public media and content is current and relevant.  We offer a family friendly environment, excellent pay and benefits. to include health,  vision, 401 K, PTO.   EOE

Essential Duties (may not be all inclusive): 

•    Gather and organize information to plan marketing campaigns

•    Plan and prepare advertising and promotional material to increase sales of products and/or services, work with customers, company officials, sales department(s) and advertising agencies

•    Develop press releases and serve to facilitate public relations activities such as POS, posters, sales sheets, contests, sweepstakes, coupons, or giveaways.

•    Inspect layouts and advertising copy, online copy, sales materials, edit scripts, audio and video, as well as other promotional material for adherence to specifications

•    Assist with Social Media strategy as well as execute Social Media tactics

•    Strong sense of design

•    Assist with on-site events in the café, as well as off-site events on a consistent basis

•    Coordinate efforts with distributors and key accounts

•    Communicate internally and externally to discuss topics such as contracts, selection of advertising media, or product to be advertised

•    Prepare and negotiate advertising and sales contracts

•    Read newsletters, trade journals and professional literature to stay informed on trends, innovations, and changes that affect media planning

•    Consult publications to learn about conventions and social functions and to organize prospect files for promotional purposes

•    Track program budgets and expenses and campaign response rates to evaluate each campaign based on program objectives and industry norms

•    Assist in the development and management of budgets and the planning calendar

•    Monitor and analyze sales promotion results to determine cost effectiveness of promotion campaigns

•    Help in development of website and assist in setting up or optimizing analytics tools for tracking visitors' behaviors to company or client websites.

•    Collaborate with web, multimedia, or art design staffs to create multimedia Web sites or other internet content that conforms to brand and company visual format.

•    Other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills

•    Ability to work in an office environment.

•    Ability to perform problem solving and use deductive reasoning.

•    Ability to coordinate between many different people, companies and timing schedules.

•    Maintain integrity of highly sensitive/confidential information.

-    Intuitive sense of current social media landscape

•    Perform tasks that will result in contact with some food allergens. (Company will advise)

•    AA diploma required; Bachelors diploma preferred in Marketing or other related field.

•    Demonstrate commitment to company values, policies and procedures.

•    Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift objects of up to 30 lbs.

•    Ability to work well with colleagues & customers in a professional & organized manner.

•    Organization and follow-up skills.

•    Effective project management skills and sound understanding of marketing principles.

•    Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign
