MARINE PIPEFITTER

Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Marine Pipefitters to support U.S. Navy ship repair and modernization efforts. The role involves the removal, repair, fabrication, installation, and testing of marine piping systems aboard naval vessels in various stages of maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, repair, replacement, and testing of shipboard piping systems, including but not limited to: Auxiliary Salt Water, Fire Main, Potable Water, Hydraulic, Compressed Air, Fuel Oil, Lube Oil, and Engine Exhaust.

  • Read and interpret work item specifications, NAVSEA/Military standards, and marine blueprints to execute repairs and modifications.

  • Utilize fabrication equipment such as pipe threading machines, bending machines (power and manual), table saws, drill presses, and brazing equipment.

  • Conduct strain-free alignment of pumps and shipboard equipment.

  • Perform blanking, pressure testing of tanks (structural boundary testing), and unblanking procedures.

  • Ensure all work complies with U.S. Navy standards and shipyard safety regulations.

  • Complete assignments as directed, including essential duties that may arise during the course of ship repair projects.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of marine pipefitting experience in a shipyard or naval repair environment.

  • Proficiency in fabrication, installation, and testing of marine piping systems.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from marine piping blueprints and military specifications.

  • Must be able to perform and certify in silver brazing.

  • Must successfully pass the following assessments:

    • Pipefitter Journeyman Written Exam

    • Blueprint Reading Exam

    • Hands-On Silver Braze Exam

    • Vision Exam

  • Must have own tools and reliable transportation.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DBIDS Badge.

  • Must pass drug and background screening.

  • Willingness to travel to different sites or naval bases as needed.

  • Flexible availability to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a shipboard and shop environment.

  • Capable of lifting, carrying, and working in confined spaces.

  • Successfully pass a drug and alcohol screening.
