Job Summary

The Marine Crewing/Dispatcher is responsible for ensuring that the Towing Operations department has adequate marine personnel for the proper manning of planned work. He/she is responsible for ensuring that the correct personnel are placed on specific projects that exploit the individual’s skills and knowledge and for coordinating the logistics of all marine personnel for each project.  This position is responsible for the SSE (Short Service Employee) program for all assigned Operations employees.

Duties/Responsibilities

Essential job duties and responsibilities include:

·         Ensure all hitches are always staffed accordingly.

·         Forecast crew changes to ensure that there are full crew on all managed vessels.

·         Arrange crew member transportation to and from job sites as needed.

·         Work with Captains and crew members to resolve issues.

·         Supports, complies with, and participates in HSE Program.

·         Interview applicants for open positions. 

·         Facilitates the career progression plan for all entry level personnel and ensures that the plan is followed.

·         Ensures that all employees are certified to their appropriate level and skill in accordance with all regulatory and governing agencies.

·         Calls marine personnel for assignments and ensures callout accuracy for job mobilizations. Assigns labor for Warehouse/Yard work as needed.

·         Consult marine personnel as needed for Performance Improvement and Evaluations.

·         Compiles all morning vessel reports and monitors work opportunities for all Operations personnel.

·         Complies with USCG rules with regards to sea time paperwork. Prepares Sea Time letters for current and previous employees when requested.

·         Performs a minimum of one site visit each calendar month.

·         Rotates on-call responsibilities as scheduled including nights and weekends.

·         Supports and participates in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program.

·         Monitors and orders supplies and groceries for vessels while ensuring cost savings methods. 

·         Reviews and enter boat logs and marine personnel hours for payroll.   

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and experience

·         High School Diploma or equivalent required.

·         Minimum two years marine industry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

·         Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·         Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
