Summary: 

Our Company is the leader in designing, developing, and implementing high-energy laser systems and processes.  We are seeking a manufacturing engineer to support the rapid expansion of our business.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Report directly to the Operations Manager
  • Assume a lead role in key infrastructure projects reporting project status to the executive team. Most significantly, we will be relocating our facility in the near future and are looking for someone to play a key role in this important transition
  • Provide engineering support to operational improvements including the management of capital investments
  • Project manage new product introductions on the production floor, contributing to process flow definition, tooling, fixturing and quality integration
  • Analyze and drive improvements in process flow and facility layout
  • Champion manufacturing process best practices, safety and process documentation under the framework of our AS9100 certification
  • Support production and product development as needed
  • Serve as technical liaison with engineering for the operations team
  • Maintain awareness of industry standards and best practices
  • Support Corporate Technologies Mission, Vision, and Goals
  • Recommend policies and procedures that would be of material assistance in the attainment of improved business practices

Relevant Skills:

  • Prior experience with plant layout required, experience playing a key role in a major site relocation preferred
  • CAD skills, SolidWorks preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute in a hands-on manner using a LEAN toolbox
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills required
  • Experience contributing to an AS9100 or ISO 9001 environment
  • Capable of interpreting mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • ERP experience preferred as we will be upgrading our system in the near future

Education/Experience:

  • BS degree in industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering or relevant technology focus and 5+ years of experience
  • A degree in relevant technology area with 10+ years of experience
