Status: Full time (8/6 Rotation)

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee all TNDC operations on-site, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, safety standards, and client expectations. Uphold TNDC’s commitment to Safety First, Safety Always by promoting and enforcing a culture of safety in all activities.
  • Financial Management: Manage a $100M+ portfolio of heavy civil construction and mining projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Demonstrate Integrity by maintaining accurate financial reporting and accountability.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor direct reports, including the Construction Managers and Project Services employees, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Embrace Diversity by promoting inclusivity and respect within the team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between TNDC, clients, contractors, and stakeholders, building strong relationships and resolving site-based issues with Respect and professionalism.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement plans to optimize site operations, improve efficiency, and achieve project deliverables, reflecting TNDC’s commitment to High Performance and innovation.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks, ensuring the successful delivery of projects while adhering to environmental and safety regulations.
  • Reporting and Accountability: Monitor and report on project progress, financial performance, and safety metrics to the General Manager, Construction, ensuring transparency and alignment with TNDC’s values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Mining, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field OR equivalent direct job experience in heavy civil construction or mining.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction or site management, with a focus on large-scale project portfolios ($100M+).
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams in remote or challenging environments.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing profit and loss for large-scale operations.
  • Professional designation (e.g., P.Eng, PMP) is an asset but not required.
  • High level of cultural competency, emotional intelligence, and ability to manage stressful situations.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Rotational schedule: 8 days on, 6 days off, subject to change based on job assignments and TNDC operational needs.
  • Ability to work in a remote and challenging environment.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Valid Drivers License and site-specific certifications (e.g., mine safety training).
  • Willingness to sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage stress and perform effectively under pressure.
