We are seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to play a critical role in driving financial strategy, business performance, and data-driven decision-making.  This role requires strong expertise in telecommunications financial reporting, key performance indicators (KPIs), and capital-intensive infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in telecom financial modeling, network buildout economics, and operational metrics to support strategic planning and execution. They will work cross-functionally with finance, operations, engineering, and executive leadership to optimize financial performance and growth.

This role can be performed from our office in Virden, MB or remotely. 

General Responsibilities:

·        Financial Planning & Analysis

o   Lead the company’s financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning processes.

o   Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support fiber network expansion and investment decisions.

o   Partner with senior leadership to evaluate capital expenditure (CapEx) and return on investment (ROI) for fiber deployment projects.

o   Monitor financial performance, conduct variance analysis, and provide actionable insights to improve profitability.

·        Telecom Industry Reporting & KPIs

o   Establish and track key telecommunications industry metrics such as:

§  Revenue per User (ARPU)

§  Churn Rate

§  Subscriber Growth & Penetration Rates

§  Cost per Passing (CPP) and Cost of Acquisition (COA)

§  Network Utilization & Take Rates

o   Ensure compliance with telecom-specific accounting, regulatory, and reporting standards.

·        Strategic Decision Support

o   Provide financial insights to optimize pricing, market expansion, and customer acquisition strategies.

o   Analyze competitive market trends and benchmark performance against industry peers.

o   Support M&A, partnerships, and funding initiatives with detailed financial due diligence.

·        Cross-Functional Collaboration

o   Work closely with engineering and operations teams to align financial planning with network deployment schedules.

o   Partner with sales and marketing to drive revenue growth strategies and optimize customer lifetime value.

o   Present financial reports and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and investors.

Qualifications & Experience:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (CPA, MBA or CFA preferred).

·        7+ years of FP&A experience, with at least 3 years in telecommunications (fiber, broadband, or wireless networks preferred).

·        Strong understanding of telecom financial models, capital-intensive projects, and infrastructure financing.

·        Proficiency in crafting high-level, executive presentations tailored to a Board audience is essential.

·        Proficiency in financial software (Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and ERP systems.

·        Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

·        Experience working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment is a plus.
