Mammography Technologist - 2732864
Looking for a dedicated and experienced Mammography Technologist that is able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients’ service on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s/area/departments policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Must provide radiographic examination within department and other areas of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation. Must exercise professional judgement in performance of procedures applying principles of radiation protection.
- Maintains patient records and files.
- Assumes responsibility for departmental quality assurance program.
- Pursues continuing education.
- Transfers patient to and from radiology.
- In the absence of a supervisor, can assume responsibility for the department.
- Rotates shifts as required.
- Performs ancillary duties as requested by supervisor.
- Follows policies and procedures as set up by SEARHC Administration.
- Assists in general hygiene of department and self.
- Must maintain competency in licensed modality.
- Able and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
- Competent in teleradiology transmission.
- Assist with invasive procedures and knowledge of these procedures.
- Competent in sterile technique.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
- Attends department/organizational meetings, in-services, and disaster drills.
- Willing to participate and serve on departmental, organizational, and community committees and teams
Qualifications:
Education
- Graduation from an accredited Radiography School
Experience
- 2+ years of current diagnostic 3D mammography experience
License/Certifications
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certified Radiography and Mammography
- NJ State License and CPR certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology used in standard radiographic and CT exams.
- Extensive knowledge of radiation physics and protection (ALARA).
- Extensive understanding and knowledge of CT (computed tomography).
- Considerable knowledge of digitized imaging and multiple computer systems.
Hours:
- Monday - Friday 10:30am - 7:00pm, every other Saturday
