Sparkle Uniform and Linen Service and TODAY Cleaners are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team.  This Maintenance Technician will keep all equipment in working order and perform required preventative maintenance, equipment installation, and emergency repairs on various types of machinery and facilities, ensuring safe cost-effective operation of the facility. Involved in a variety of fabrication, application, installation and repair of mechanical and electromechanical equipment, the installation of electrical conduit and machine/building wiring, pneumatic and steam equipment.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a predefined preventative maintenance schedule including regular documentation.
  • Perform maintenance on boiler, steam, water, air systems, and all other machinery production equipment.  Additionally, perform facilities maintenance as needed.
  • Determine priorities and complete jobs listed on the work orders list in a timely manner.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and perform emergency repair of electrical or mechanical malfunction of equipment, replacing defective components in the production area.
  • Operate power equipment in accordance with company, OSHA, and other safety guidelines.
  • Understand and follow the OSHA regulated Lockout/Tagout procedure.
  • Provide steam fitting and electrical work as needed.
  • Maintain company vehicles, adequately stocked with tools and spare parts, ready to work.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by management and chief engineer.

SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:                                                    

  • High school diploma required; associates degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Two years’ experience or training preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic computer systems and electronics.
  • Maintenance/equipment repair experience in an industrial environment or equivalent.
  • Welding and electrical experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures manuals, blueprints, schematics, and drawings.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; climb; handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; ability to use senses to diagnose and troubleshoot problems.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/or move 70+ pounds.
