Apartment Building Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities: Conduct preventative maintenance on the property. Assist in coordinating outside (3rd party) vendors and building material ordering. Perform general maintenance of equipment, buildings and the grounds.

- Performing routine building maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.

-Work directly alongside other members of maintenance crew or work independently as the situation may dictate.

- General knowledge of equipment repair and building systems, electrical, plumbing, painting etc.

- Trouble shoots building/unit malfunctions and failures and helps to make necessary repairs.

- Perform preventative maintenance on apartments and turning over apartments for re-rental.

- Preform general maintenance throughout site.

- General housekeeping maintenance (minor janitorial tasks).

- Assist Snow removal

- Other duties as assigned by property manager and building ownership. An ideal candidate will possess maintenance and/or facilities maintenance experience.

Must have a valid New York State Driver’s License and have a personal vehicle.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Mechanically inclined, multi-tasker with both good communication and leadership skills. The ability to work independently and/or in collaboration with other members of the maintenance staff. Must possess smartphone and/or computer skills sufficient if requested to order building: supplies, materials and equipment. As with coordinating 3rd party vendor service calls, etc as may be required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Normal schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30- pm to 4:30 pm. Must be available for on-call rotation.
