Hyatt Place Kent Narrows & Marina, located in Grasonville, Md. is the newest hotel on the Eastern Shore boasting 120 water views rooms and 7,000 square feet of meeting space. We are seeking an energetic fun associates who are looking to give their best effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

As a Hotel Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and upgrading various systems and equipment throughout the property to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests and staff.

Job Functions

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems and kitchen equipment.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and resolve maintenance issues in guest rooms and public areas.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of supplies.
  
• Assist in implementing energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Maintain the curb appeal including but not limited to snow removal, lawn care, gardening, and trash removal.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

 Position Requirements

• High School diploma and Trade school coursework in related field preferred.
• Previous maintenance experience or equivalent training required.
• Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays and weekends and alternate shifts.
• Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching, kneeling, stooping, crawling and climbing.
