Maintenance - Nursery/Garden Centre

West Coast Floral is a family-owned nursery and garden centre located in South Surrey. We are looking to fill a Maintenance Technician role. The ideal candidate should have knowledge and experience in electrical, plumbing metal fabrication and general construction.  West Coast Floral is known for their family values, innovative-thinking and exceptional industry standards. We grow our own plants in our extensive greenhouses, having a nationwide wholesale and shipping division, and a thriving retail garden centre. Situated on 24 acres with over 3 million plants grown inside 160,000 ft2 of climate-controlled greenhouses, every day will be a different experience. 

            If you are looking to work with a wonderful team, with a great company culture, send us your resume.  General shifts are Monday to Friday, with the possibility of on call for emergencies. This is a part-time or full-time permanent position working with a dynamic team.       

Responsibilities

·        Responsible for regular repairs and maintenance on a wide variety of facilities and greenhouse equipment.

·        General building maintenance – electrical, plumbing and irrigation systems.

·        Adhere to all Joint Health and Safety regulations.

·        Tractor and SDCB forklift operation.

·        Maintenance of water systems, tables and shade curtains.

·        Ability to assist on small construction projects and installation of new systems.

·        Metal fabrication when needed in our Greenhouse and construction projects

·        Maintain a clean and organized workshop with adequate supplies.

·        Must be willing to work as a team and independently.

·        Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by Operations Manager.

Qualifications

·        Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in building and facilities maintenance.

·        Ability to stand for long periods of time.

·        Ability to lift, up to 50lbs.

·        Strong team player and able to work autonomously

·        Tractor and SDCB forklift experience is an asset
