Heather Hill Healthcare Center is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director with prior skilled nursing or healthcare facility experience to lead plant operations and ensure full regulatory compliance.

This is not a general commercial maintenance role. Candidates must understand the unique life safety, CMS, infection control, and survey requirements of a skilled nursing facility.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing all building operations, preventative maintenance programs, life safety systems, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance within a skilled nursing environment.

This role is critical to maintaining survey readiness, resident safety, and uninterrupted facility operations.

Healthcare-Specific Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the Life Safety binder in accordance with CMS and state regulations

• Ensure compliance with AHCA, CMS, OSHA, and local health department requirements

• Oversee fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, generators, and emergency preparedness plans

• Participate in state surveys and life safety inspections

• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules specific to healthcare equipment

• Ensure proper infection control practices related to maintenance and environmental safety

• Coordinate licensed vendors familiar with healthcare compliance standards

• Maintain documentation logs for compliance review

• Lead maintenance staff while ensuring resident safety is never compromised

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of maintenance leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility, Hospital, or Healthcare Setting (required)

• Demonstrated experience managing Life Safety compliance in a regulated healthcare environment (required)

• Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems

• Experience participating in healthcare surveys and inspections

• Knowledge of OSHA and infection control standards in a healthcare setting

• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying conditions

• Valid driver’s license

• Must pass all required background and drug screenings

Candidates without healthcare facility experience will not be considered.
