MACHINIST/MANUAL LATHE OPERATOR/BALL GRINDER.

Full-time position currently open for experienced MACHINIST/MANUAL LATHE OPERATOR/BALL GRINDER.

We are seeking a Hands-On machinist experienced in the set up and use of manufacturing equipment.

Manual Ball Grinder, Manual lathes and milling machines.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate small to large reciprocating grinders without assistance.
• Input record measurements for record.
• Read a manufacturing drawing and identify specifications/measurements for part.
• Use micrometers, machinist’s scales, protractors, and calipers to measure finish ground components.
• Know and apply safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications for Machinist

• Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred
• Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
• Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
• Knowledge of metal properties and other material
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items, able to lift up to 50lbs

Applicants must be able to work without direct supervision and be able to solve problems as they occur. Applicants must possess some measuring tools, i.e. indicator, calipers, etc...
