The Machine Operator / Band Saw Operator / Warehouse Worker works as a part of a team to process customer orders and handle material safely and productively at Corrosion Materials.

Responsibilities and Duties

At a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Machine Operator / Band Saw Operator / Warehouse Worker. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require. 

  • Perform all duties in accordance with CMI operating procedures to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.
  • Adhere to customer specifications, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Machining / Band Sawing of metal products in accordance with company operating procedures, safety rules, and quality standards (tolerances, finish, etc.)
  • Plan and set-up sequences on processing equipment for all required necessary actions for job completion
  • Set up and secure material on equipment - position workpiece
  • Start machine and observe operation regularly to ensure consistency with specifications
  • Make necessary adjustments to reposition workpiece, change cutting tools, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes
  • Perform routine machine maintenance
  • Move materials throughout the warehouse using forklift, overhead crane, and/or cart
  • Accurately transcribe data onto materials in accordance with job traveler
  • Package material ready for shipment using appropriate crate, skid, or cylinder.
  • Keep a clean and safe work environment.
  • Respect and adhere to all CMI safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Adhere to all CMI handbook policies and procedures.

Secondary Responsibilities and Duties

The following duties and responsibilities are expected to be performed in a backup role such as when time permits or if the immediate needs arise.

  • Load and unload inbound and outbound freight trucks.
  • Receive inbound materials and check the accuracy of goods received against the Purchase Order by using calipers, micrometer, and/or tape measure
  • De-burring, and packaging commercial customer orders.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Warehouse and Band Saw experience preferred
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Good organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to measure using different tools
  • Ability to read and transfer data accurately
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction
  • Strong work ethic; self-motivated
  • Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers
