IMC is currently hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse [LPN] for IMC Behavioral Health on a full time basis. The LPN is apart of a multidisciplinary healthcare team and responsible for rendering safe nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LPN uses the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria for the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- Current license as a LPN in the state of Louisiana.
- Must maintain CPR and EDGE certifications
- Knowledge of the nursing process and nursing principles.
- Demonstrates knowledge of LA Mental Health Statutes
- Knowledge of anatomy
PRINCIPAL TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises, directs, and monitors the nursing care assigned to her/him
- Applies the nursing process to each patient and implements nursing actions based on the multidisciplinary treatment plan
- Identifies patient and family education needs and in collaboration with other disciplines, initiates education needs according to the age of the patient.
- Functions as a positive role model for peers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical Center
- Documents all findings in the patient record and effectively communicates with patients and staff
- Maintains confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient and organizational data
- Participates in planning of patients discharge needs and readiness for discharge.
- Consistently lives by the Iberia Medical Center Standards of Performance
- Administers medications and performs venipuncture as required
- Assists in the supervision and training of CNAs
- Demonstrates respect for patients and families.
- Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals
