As a Logistics Lead, you play a crucial role in optimizing the delivery and shipment processes for a diverse range of building supplies. Your responsibilities extend from managing efficient and secure logistics for box trucks and specialized deliveries to comprehensive oversight of inventory management. You will ensure safety compliance and leverage advanced technology to enhance and streamline shipping operations, ultimately supporting the company's commitment to timely and effective service delivery.

Responsibilities:

Delivery Coordination

·          Collaborate closely with the shipping department to plan and coordinate daily delivery schedules.

·         Pre-plan shipments and adjust schedules to maximize productivity.

·         Monitor the routes and status of deliveries to optimize daily schedules and ensure timely customer service.

·          Set up and dispatch pick orders systematically to ensure efficient operations by warehouse pickers.

 

Inventory Management

·         Conduct regular cycle counts, oversee inventory transfers, resolve discrepancies in received materials. Notify purchasing of low stock levels to maintain supply continuity.

 

Technology Proficiency

·         Utilize shipping and office technology effectively, including DDMS, Microsoft Outlook, and Motive, to enhance operational efficiency.

 

Support and Communication

·         Handle customer and staff communications courteously and efficiently, prioritizing calls based on urgency and ensuring timely responses.

 

Problem Resolution

·         Proactively address delays, damages, or issues with backordered items by collaborating with sales and purchasing teams to find solutions and communicate alternatives.

 

Documentation:

·         Assist in preparing and verifying shipping documents such as bills, invoices, and delivery schedules.

·         Maintain necessary documentation and provide regular reports on shipping activities and challenges to management.

 

Health and Safety

·         Work in compliance with laws and regulations, attend and complete all required health and safety training, report all accidents, and take every precaution reasonable to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.

·          Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

·         Experience in logistics or supply management considered an asset.

·         Strong organization and planning skills.

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

·         Eager to learn with a strong motivation to succeed.

·         Ability to work independently but collaboratively.
