Logistics Analyst

This role will be a 6-month contract.
Will sit on the supply chain team. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  

Schedule and plan bulk organic milk deliveries to Danone North America and co-pack processing facilities in quantities and timeframes to fulfill demand plans and customer requirements.  Monitor haulers route assembly and delivery practices to ensure fullest trucks, least amount of miles and lowest landed cost.  Source and arrange alternate plants to take supply in at highest milk price and lowest hauling cost during times of excess supply or due to quality issue.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create and distribute weekly pick-up and delivery schedules to haulers, plants and others as necessary
• Update weekly reports regarding hauling costs, detention times, and detention fees
• Find outlets for excess supply and rejected loads including conventional, powder and cheese plants, calf farms etc. and maintain an active contact list of such
• Maintain and update hauler contract matrices as needed
• Maintain professional business relationships with dairy industry network
• Plan NFDM powder production
• Provide phone coverage to handle assorted and various issues related to route assembly, delivery, unloading, load quality, and load integrity
• Work closely with field and quality team to ensure quality standards are upheld
• Analyze accessorial charges to help the team identify opportunities to reduce costs

PREFERRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of equivalent experience
• Experience in demand/supply planning, forecasting, purchasing, transportation, and plant operations
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Advanced Excel Skills, experience with SAP or other ERP systems and experience with transportation planning software
• Available to field phone calls from haulers, plants or regulatory agencies and provide direction to appropriate entity on disposition and destination of loads. 
• Ability to influence and achieve results through those not directly managed
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and non-verbal
• Office machinery including: computers, printers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, etc.
• Software including:  SAP, SAP APO, Excel, PowerPoint
