Lead Cook - Hyatt Place Tulsa Hotel Downtown
Hyatt Place is looking for an experienced Lead Cook with a passion for banquet service and menu creation. This role will oversee daily kitchen operations, This position plays a key role in ensuring consistent food quality, training team members, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and sanitation. The schedule for this position is primarily evening hours to primary service times.
Responsibilities
• Supervise and participate in the preparation and cooking of menu items for hotel guests and events.
• Ensure consistent quality, portion control, and presentation across all meals.
• Assist in menu planning, special offerings, and recipe development.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff in proper food handling, cooking techniques, and safety procedures.
• Monitor inventory, place orders, and control food costs.
• Maintain cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards.
• Coordinate with management and front-of-house teams to meet guest expectations.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of culinary experience in a hotel; supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• ServSafe or other food safety certification preferred.
• Flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
• Ability to operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, flat top grill.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to stand during the entire 8 hour shift.
