About Us

The Daily Catch, established in 1973 in Boston, MA, is a family-owned and operated group of Sicilian-style seafood and pasta restaurants. We operate three locations in Boston, along with a wholesale seafood business based out of Boston's Fish Pier. We serve local New England seafood using family recipes that satsify seafood lovers from around the world for over 50 years.

Our newest concept — a takeout window — focuses on fast-fried seafood, pastas, and sandwiches. This new location is designed to meet the demand for lunch, late-night eats, takeout, delivery, and catering.

 

Job Summary

The Daily Catch is hiring experienced Line Cooks/Cashiers for our new takeout window. In this dual role, you’ll take customer orders, prepare dishes to order, and deliver exceptional guest experiences from start to finish.

The ideal candidate is confident working at various cooking stations, including prep, pantry, sauté, grill, and fry, while also providing top-tier customer service at the front counter.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily restaurant setup, breakdown, deep cleaning, and closing duties
  • Greet guests, take orders, and assist with questions to ensure a positive experience
  • Receive, cook, and package orders quickly and accurately according to order slips
  • Prep and cook a variety of seafood dishes, ensuring proper portion sizes, flavor consistency, and adherence to quality standards
  • Safely operate all kitchen tools and equipment, including knives, grill, fryer, stove, and oven
  • Maintain all equipment and kitchen areas to ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment
  • Follow all food safety and health department regulations
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking as needed
  • Perform any additional duties as requested by the Manager

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Required: Fluent in English
  • Required: Minimum 2 years of experience as a line cook in a high-volume restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife-handling skills
  • Excellent multitasking ability in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Previous experience in Italian and/or seafood cuisine is a plus
