The Hilton Garden inn Birmingham SE at Liberty Park and RAM Hotels. 

We are seeking an experienced, friendly and professional Line Cook in the mornings to join our team at our hotel, the Hilton Garden inn BHAM SE Liberty Park. The line cook will run the kitchen operations for the HGI Grille and bar each morning during the hours open from 7-10am. The successful candidate will have experience to cook our Hilton menu, excellent customer service skills and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.  At times, the Line Cook will assist the F&B Director with meeting room guests’ meals and banquets. Recently ranked by BHAM BUSINESS JOURNAL at #3 (out of 83 area hotels) and currently #6 on TripAdvisor for Greater Birmingham, the Hilton Garden Inn BHAM/Liberty Park is the quality place you want to work!

JOB SUMMARY 

Are you friendly and enjoy “rolling out the red carpet” to guests?  Do you enjoy creating stellar guest experiences?  Are you a team player that is energetic, friendly, and professional?  Would you like to welcome our guests to our Lobby Restaurant each morning with the ability to deliver excellent customer service by providing an enjoyable dining experience?  If so, being our Line Cook with us may be the job for you!  Our Line Cook and F&B Team will ensure that our guests are satisfied and will look forward to another awesome experience with us!   

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and attentive service to guests; interact with guests and answer questions that guests may have pertaining to their dining experience; become familiar with our hotel, services offered, hours of operation, nearby places of interest, etc. 

  • Set up and maintain the evening kitchen each morning by following the hotel franchise breakfast guidelines; be familiar with breakfast items and beverage choices 

  • Collapse the kitchen each end of shift; replenish and restock breakfast items to prepare for the next day; communicate with hotel management regarding inventory of all breakfast products and any additional feedback 

  • Maintain cleanliness of work area throughout the shift that meet the county health codes and the hotel quality assurance requirements; practice clean-as-you-go procedures for breakfast bar, dining and preparation areas 

  • Comply with sanitation regulations, guidelines and safety standards pertaining to food products; protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety guidelines  

  • Perform other tasks as necessary or required to meet or exceed guest satisfaction 

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE 

·         Previous experience in the hospitality industry (preferred) 

·         Previous experience as Line Cook (strongly preferred) 

REQUIRED SKILLS 

·         Must be flexible to work varied schedules 

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills 

·         Ability to listen attentively 

·         Must have the physical ability to walk, bend, and stand for long time periods
