Life Enrichment Coordinator- Memory Care

Bridgeport Place is a compassionate, resident-centered memory care community serving 14 residents. We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Life Enrichment Coordinator to develop and implement engaging activities that promote cognitive, physical, and social well-being. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing meaningful and person-centered experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly activities tailored to the needs and abilities of memory care residents.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages resident participation.
• Develop individualized engagement plans based on residents’ preferences, history, and abilities.
• Organize special events, outings, and family engagement opportunities.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure activities align with residents' care plans.
• Utilize music, art, sensory stimulation, and reminiscence therapy to enhance resident engagement.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and program effectiveness.
• Train and support volunteers and staff in activity facilitation.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and best practices in memory care programming.

Qualifications:

• Experience in life enrichment, activity coordination, or a related field, preferably in memory care or senior living.
• Passion for working with individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt activities to meet residents’ varying cognitive and physical abilities.
• Knowledge of person-centered care approaches.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings as needed.
• Creativity, patience, and a compassionate demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as an Activity Director (ADC) or Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) preferred.
• Experience in music therapy, art therapy, or similar therapeutic modalities.
• Proficiency in using technology to support engagement activities.
