Life Enrichment Assistant - Memory Care

We are seeking a compassionate and creative Life Enrichment Specialist to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our memory care residents. The Life Enrichment Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and implementing innovative programs and activities designed to engage, stimulate, and improve the overall well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities:

Program Development: Help in designing and creating a diverse range of activities and programs tailored to the unique needs and abilities of memory care residents. These activities should focus on cognitive, physical, emotional, and social engagement.

Individualized Care: Assess the interests, preferences, and cognitive abilities of each resident to develop personalized activity plans that promote a sense of purpose and accomplishment.

Engagement and Participation: Encourage resident participation in activities, providing emotional support and reassurance as needed. Adapt activities to accommodate varying levels of cognitive functioning. Work with a group of community volunteers for life enrichment activities. Lead and facilitate intergenerational programs.

Collaboration: Work closely with the interdisciplinary team, including caregivers, nurses, and therapists, to ensure a holistic and resident-centered approach to care.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress, tracking their engagement and making adjustments to activity plans as needed.

Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of residents during all activities, following safety protocols and providing any necessary assistance.

Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with best practices in memory care and participate in ongoing training and education to enhance your knowledge and skills.

Perform any other duties as requested within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.
