Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Vickery Pediatrics is seeking a compassionate, high-energy, and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our clinical team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for our young patients and their families, ensuring a smooth, supportive, and professional experience. You will work closely with our pediatricians to provide high-quality medical care in a fast-paced, family-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Intake: Room patients, obtain accurate vital signs (weight, height, head circumference, BP), and document the chief complaint in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Clinical Support: Assist providers with physical exams, minor office procedures, and screenings (vision, hearing, etc.).
- Immunizations & Injections: Administer vaccines and medications according to CDC guidelines and office protocols, maintaining a calm environment for the child.
- Triage & Communication: Handle phone triage, provide basic medical advice under provider supervision, and communicate lab results or follow-up instructions to parents.
- Lab Work: Perform point-of-care testing (strep, flu, RSV, glucose, urinalysis) and prepare specimens for outside labs.
- Administrative Duties: Ensure exam rooms are stocked and sanitized; assist with prior authorizations and medical record requests as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Licensure: Current, unrestricted LPN license in the state of Georgia
- Certification: Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- Experience: Previous experience in pediatrics or family medicine is highly preferred.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks) and basic office software.
- The "Pediatric Touch": Exceptional ability to communicate with children of all ages—from newborns to adolescents—and the ability to de-escalate anxious parents.
- Adaptability: Ability to multitask in a busy clinic while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and safety.
